Town Board authorizes court renovation bid with grant funds

NY SPARTA — Sparta Town Board approves court renovation bid process with state grant funds. The board voted 3-1 on May 12 to authorize bids for courtroom and justice office improvements at the Community Center using $29,629.28 from the state Justice Court Assistance Program, with Council Member Mary Ellyn Calabrese abstaining due to a potential conflict of interest. Supervisor Mark Schuster and Council Members Aaron Schreiner and Bill Smith voted yes.

The board also unanimously approved a $37,090 Bond Anticipation Note to refinance an equipment purchase and authorized a contract with EGS Advanced Energy Solutions to audit the town's fiscal utility bills.
